And? Is money equal to love to this person? Is a humans value only shown to them by money? If someone’s parents only give them $1 a week allowance, or they don’t give them any allowance- does that mean that child’s parents don’t love them or think they are as beautiful or valid a human being as a kid who’s parents give them $10 a week allowance?

The kid doesn’t have to pay their bills and live off the allowance. A company paying their employees *is* making a statement about the worth of their time.

No, the employees are. Nobody is putting a gun to their heads if they don't work at Burger King.

I think it’s a mix of the two. But @abel_hazard- part of your comment is illustrative to me of part of the issue I am about to mention. An employer doesn’t necessarily pay a person based on what that PERSON is worth- they may pay in part based on what they believe their labor is worth- but that’s not really true either. The job, the need for the job- existed without you. It’s not about you or your worth. It’s about profit and what they’ve allocated to what, and how much they have to allocate.

For example- an old lady selling cookies from her kitchen hires you to deliver them. If she offers you use of her car and $20 a week to deliver around town- does she think YOU are only worth $20? Does she think that 4 hours a week or whatever or your time is only worth $20? Or is $20 what she has to spend or has budgeted and she’s just looking for a person who decides that it worth their time?
