Important to note that not treating someone with respect (basic human dignity) and not treating someone with respect of authority (often mistaken for basic human decency) is quite different.
I've always just lived by one rule when it comes to people; as long as you're not an asshole or hurting yourself or others, you can do whatever the fuck you want and I wont judge.
I shit you not if someone approached me and told me they were fox kin and they did not want to be human and politely asked me to respect their wishes I'd say go for it (so long as they're not shitting in public places).
If they yelled in my face or someone elses face demanding them to respect them then that is not ok and now I'm gonna treat them like an asshole.
I'm not the demanding judge in ones life, so if they have a weird belief or habit or whatever they can do whatever the flying fuck they want but if they're gonna bring others down for their own gain then we're gonna have a problem
