More uncomfortable. Not as absorbent. Stiffer and thicker fabric with a bit of shine. There's a reason why cotton is so popular. It is softer and can often be blended with other fibres to incorporate different properties
So like a stiffer linen, or jute?
That could still easily be used for industrial uses and transport, if it's not comfortable to wear.
Or a hemp-cotton blend could be used for clothing.
It is used that way. In more rural areas, jute & hemp is used to make bags, baskets etc., especially for industrial uses as they are cheaper to produce and stronger as compared to other fibres. But these fibres cannot be used as a substitute for cotton in everyday use such as clothes.
