See, lurkers do post sometimes! I took this photo last night at 1am. Noctilucent clouds appear in the summer at high latitudes. Composed of tiny ice crystals and generally invisible, they can reflect sunlight when the sun is below the horizon. They form in the mesosphere, while other clouds form much lower in the troposphere and stratosphere.
