Honestly I kinda see how it could have happened, especially in a noisy environment. Plus, the name has sadly been stained by the infamous organisation but Isis is an Egyptian goddess and I knew people named like that as a kid.

Technically the generation that couldn’t “handle black and white kids together in the same school” would be people who are 90 years old or so. The generation in power at that time would have largely been born during or before WW2 and thus were “pre boomer” and were the “silent generation” most likely, or members of the “greatest generation.” And if you want to point at student racism in Bonner’s... I have bad news for you. We can link news story after story, article after article and testimony after testimony that gen X, Y and even Z- there are plenty of racial issues and incidents.

And really... telling someone “you were racist against black people, so you can’t tell us not to be racist against Muslims, Arabs, or anyone we want to group in with them...” doesn’t really make it right... and also... telling someone that 60,40,20 years ago they were racist- when they’re spreading a message of inclusion.. kinda overlooks the fact that maybe in all those decades they realized how wrong they were and are perhaps trying to share the experience of a person who’s already been there, made the mistake, and wants to see the future not repeat it again and again? <sips tea..>

Yeah they're generalizing a whole generation and denying them the possibility of growth... I think a lot of people included in that post have a rather faulty logic.
