The logic of lien Star ca YouTuber here falls apart because each are in the entertainment industry, and each dresses provocatively in their primary entertainment job- if you take a picture of that youtuber going out to pick up their mail outside work hours- they probably look like to pornstar playing Minecraft. It’s almost as if... sex sells. Maybe I should go trade mark that totally original phrase and idea...?

But what it is interesting- why is it the modern popular sentiment that shaming pornstars is not ok- that they are women making a choice because they enjoy showing their body, the are savvy and know that they canmake good money showing their body, and or both- but many, even here this posted doesn’t, shame porn stars- vilify youtubers and streamers who make a choice for business or personal reasons to show their skin?

If this woman was not a youtuber and chose to dress this way in public because it was their style aesthetic, or they enjoy their sexuality or are proud of their body- would we shame them? What would we say? “You dress like a pornstar...”? Not only is that clearly not the case- as pornstars quite often don’t dress so provocatively in public (some do, and that’s fine) but- what is the point of the statement? And why is showing ones body inherently a bad thing, let alone “dressing like a poem Star.”

Finally- women in entertainment often dress provocatively or feel pressure to do so, simply because it tends to sell. Is it their fault? Are they the ones who drive that market, or is it the consumer? Is it all of us who create a demand and will pay for sex, who are more apt to listen or pay attention or give money to a pretty face and an ice body? How is this or any other woman responsible for the laws of supply and demand? They didn’t create the market or manipulate the market to force their product on people, Hell- most people outside the internet will never see an advertisement for porn- and yet.... somehow even before the internet or cable porn- people found magazines and videos and such.... without any need to advertise them. If you have a problem with youtubers or anyone else showing skin for cash- don’t blame them, look around and look in a mirror. No need to shame them because you or others around you like to look at people’s bodies.

I deleted it. I opened with a comparison example to illustrate the fault- but I realized that not only was it not really necessary, but since analogies are generally imperfect, and often just lead more to people focusing on dissecting the analogy than looking at the logic- I just deleted it and edited the second comment to be the opener.

But more or less the gist was a comparison between a fire fighters photo taken when off duty driving for a ride share, and a full time cab driver who’s photo was taken while at their part time job as a volunteer firefighter. That the context of who looks like they do what depends upon when we look at them. Most pilots do not wear their flight suits when they aren’t flying, and most divers don’t wear their diving suits when out to dinner and so- unless we catch them perhaps on the job or on the way too or from having not had time to change.
