Lol. It depends on what you want. “Bro science” says to get big muscles and or get big strength- lift big weights. For strength training- you generally do want to lift the heaviest weights you can get minimum reps on for your full sets. BUT- lifting “lighter” weights for more reps can build endurance, still builds strength, generally builds size a little better, and what’s really important isn’t how “big” the weight is, it’s to keep increasing the weight gradually at a metered pace, or to keep increasing the reps or intensity. Some people would rather bench 400lbs for 5 reps and some would rather bench 200 for 12 reps. Whatever you can do and gets you the results you want.
