Actually, the idea of races and the inferiority of certain races came after the ottoman slave trade. While it's true that slavery did exist in pretty much every human society from the very beginning, it was the Europeans who started to argue how the people they wanted to enslave were "different" enough to not regard them as actual human beings.

I'm afraid anyone feeling the knee-jerk need to mention "white slavery" when it's about the european/american slave system, might at the very least be just a teenie-weenie bit oblivious. Or maybe worse.
How do you think the Italians built such mean shit? They expanded their world views, and opened their eyes to new possibilities. Remember to take away something positive from all situations!
