If you want the answer, it's basically an IV.
You can quickly clear dehydration with careful balances of a "saline solution" (salt water). The reason for this is because PURE water is too clean, and the cells will want to too badly and explode under the pressure osmosis will cause.

The key words here are "careful balances"... results may vary based on composition of said saline solution.
.
What you described is also the reason you want to use salt water (1 tsp per 250 ml) for nasal irrigations which may hurt like a mf with plain water. Aaand we're back to torture ;)
A funny side effect of us welcoming any German commander who promised to give tactical information regarding the Soviets after WW2 was that they got free reign to write all about how they could've won the war if not for Hitler. When in fact, no, they couldn't have won the war even with the Kriegsfuhrer Elefant Rokket 2000 exterminating 6,000 enemy combatants with increible precise superior german engineering.

I've heard people saying america couldn't have won that war without german engineers and scientists. I'm extremely glad they did though...
