Of course.... the rabid and often somewhat ignorant rabid anti Apple crowd, who has also been complaining about apples proprietary chargers for decades on- of Apple actually did switch to a universal connector they’d probably just hate on that and day it’s a way to sell you all new accessories and docks. So it is what is is I suppose. At least with “wireless charging” you don’t necessarily need a model specific cable, just a compatible wireless charger; and most accessories no longer use a hard connection to the phone anyway- preferring Bluetooth nowadays.
