Quantity is a quality all its own

By comparison- the US Sherman tanks were inferior in many ways to German tanks but the US fielded far more tanks than Germany, and the Soviet tanks likewise were produced in large number.

So while the number of designations the Nazis had for tanks very likely dwarfed the number of designations the Soviets had- with the actual tanks, the Soviets and Americans mass produced tanks in staggering numbers.

While there is some myth in a common sentiment that the Germans had “better” equipment but had less of it- there is truth in places, or at least to say that a combination of over engineering and other inefficiencies were at play, and that overall, a major hurdle to the Nazi war machine was that they lacked men and materials- especially late in the war, compared to the opposition. It isn’t as many say a case that “if they only had more.... xyz.... they probably would have won...” there were many factors that sealed their defeat- and by the time of the late war when the soviet war machine and US were in a state of mass production and mobilization- a “little more xyz” alone probably wouldn’t have done it.
