It’s not really all that important to remember. Why? What does it matter? That’s like your friends dad telling you that he’s mad your dad slept with your friends mom; and you saying “well now, he also has slept with my mom, and he slept with Bills mom too, and Bills dad was cool with it. They swing like that....” well.... good for them. It turns out that not everyone on earth is as bothered by the same things as everyone else. It also turns out that sometimes who says something, where, when, or why makes a difference in how we feel about it. Your boss telling you about your poor performance in private hurts. Your spouse criticizing your performance might hurt more. Your spouse doing that in public might be worse for you. Or not. It’s all relative.

With that said, threatening to hurt or kill, or actually doing so, because they don’t follow your beliefs or do something your beliefs don’t allow.... that’s not cool at all. Of course, in a “perfect” world we would respect the beliefs of others anyway, and it wouldn’t come to that. Few things are as deep and far reaching in their convictions than religion and family. Your safe bet is that a large number of people you meet on earth will be willing to de, or kill, for one or both of those things. Some people take their religion more seriously, or parts of it more seriously than others. So called Christians often put their belief that their religion says homosexuality is wrong ahead of the parts about love and forgiveness- going as far to wish harm on gays or even hurt them.

Not a lot of Abrahamic peoples take things like rules against certain fabrics or rules about many foods seriously. Most Jews don’t adhere so strictly to their faith as orthodox and others- and between Jews and Christians very few keep the sabbath in any manner beyond perhaps attending services. At the same time, asides from NUMEROUS killings, shootings, bombings, and threats against clinics and doctors and clinics linked to abortion or birth control services, Christian terrorists were responsible for acts like the the 2011 Norway attacks, synagogue arsons, killing of gays such as the murder of G Matson and W Mowder by Christian fundamentalists.

BHT killed 50 people at Christ Church and there have been men like the trio who bombed a Spokane newspaper and robbed a few banks in addition to their other crimes. R. Doggart was arrested after stockpiling weapons and ammunition and making known his intention to shoot up an Islamic area near him. 2 synagogue shooters both claimed Christian motivations and the second man burned a California Synagogue down in 2019 and claimed that his bible said he needed to.

I could go on. For days. We haven’t even covered international Christian or other terrorists and criminals or acts of violence done in the name of religion. My point isn’t that Christians or anyone else are inherently dangerous.

My point is that the world has TONS of violent Christians who commit crimes and murders with religious reasonings. You don’t really hear much about them though do you? In fact- in the west, “terrorist” is almost synonymous with “Islamic”- but that just isn’t the case. Asides political and non religious terrorists and criminals (or ones who’s religion didn’t factor into their motivations) we have TONS of criminals and terrorists acting on religious motivations that aren’t Muslim. All combined- Muslim violence or terror is a tiny little sliver of what the world sees or America sees, but it gets a lot of focus. More than Christian terrorism- which if people even hear about it, the religious aspects often go undiscussed or mentioned in passing.

So it’s pretty irrelevant overall to remember that a magazine posted sh&t about a bunch of religions. It doesn’t really make it any less painful if I punch you but I also punched your siblings too. And everyone feels that pinch different don’t they? I mean- to the Muslims, just posting that image is supreme sacrilege. So how do you say that the profaning was “equal” when it wasn’t the same? What’s the Christian equivalent of posting a picture of a prophet? There isn’t one. So you punch your brother in the dick and your sister doesn’t have one so you punch her... where? What’s “the same thing” as punching a girl in the dick? You can vag punch them- but that’s not the same. Worse? Better? Who knows. But if the guy you punched in the dock starts crying and the one you punched in the vag doesn’t even make a peep.... you probably hurt the guy you punched in the dick more didn’t you?

Either way... It doesn’t make it right to threaten or use violence- but if you intentionally do something you know is going to piss a bunch of people off badly, and for little or no purpose but to do so or flex, while I’d tell them to maybe chill out a bit, I’d not really feel much or any sympathy for your tears. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. Now art... art is often controversial and needs to be. And freedom of press is paramount. People need to be able to say things when they have important statements to make. But.... that whole thing is just a mess. A mess of people behaving badly. I’m done writing about it. Shame all around.

Religion in general... People pretending to be good while actually being some of the worst in existence.

Lol. I can’t blame religion any more than I can blame cars for drunk drivers. But that doesn’t mean a lot of people don’t operate their religion with incompetence, malice, or reckless abandon. Keep your religion inside the lines and off the sidewalk, and much like your car it doesn’t belong in my living room, I don’t likely want to hear about it unless I ask, I don’t want or need tour help with mine; don’t use it as a weapon or to intimidate or coerce people, and don’t be a creep and try to pick up strangers or force people to go for a ride. Enjoy it if you like it, be happy if you find it practical. Go to forums with others with the same car and geek out. Have meet ups and spend as much time as you want in the garage with it. Don’t try and change the laws to get rods of bikes or punish people who don’t drive your car. And if your car in any way prevents or fucks up my wedding or my life- it’s either a lemon that should be crushed or you need to fix your shit.
