I have an iPhone thanks to my husband begging to trade phones.

It’s the only thing I hate about IPhones well actually that and the price.
I miss google she understands me lol
i am very sorry to the android lovers and i get why they like them, but apple is just so much more "user friendly." when i first picked up an iphone and was able to competently use it in 2 minutes, comparatively it took me a while to figure out android. maybe im an idiot, but that just means apple is easier for idiots (which there are a lot of in this world)
I said the same thing, then when I had to get a new one (battery only lasted about 1 hour even when not used) I decided to test a pixel. Tried mums old Samsung and didn't like it, but honest to god pixel is amazing. It helped that I had 3 friends who also switched from IPhone to pixel that could vouch for it before I dared to switch.. but don't regret it for a second (and half the cost as well!)
I HATED the iPhone when I got it. A friend gave me theirs when the 2 came out. I HATED it. To me, it is unintuitive and clunky. But I got used to it. And then they keep changing it. Lol. Then I have to get used to it again. But that said- I work a lot with androids. And I hate them. There are some things to like. Not automatically jumping to new tabs I open? Sometimes that’s very nice. The UI and clunky menus and all the compatibility and stability problems... nah.
i get the battery issue btw i hate dealing with new batteries on apple products. another thing i like about apple that i forgot to mention is the presentation, opening any apple product is a special, borderline cathartic, experience that has not been matched yet by any mainstream product. its comparable to buying an Aston Martin vs buying a Toyota it FEELS special. this may not matter to a lot of people but its something that matters to me
Lol. I’m not big on the whole “unboxing experience” but I agree that even for me who isn’t into the whole thing- it’s something I notice. My partner is huge on unboxing- and like you, she melts when she gets to open a new apple product. It’s like a ceremony. It doesn’t have that “opening some commodity from a warehouse” feeling. It’s very polished. And apple is full of little things like that that don’t matter to everyone. I mean- why do you care if your car was assembled by hand or your engine was built and signed by some 100 year old German? But to people who buy high end luxury cars- even if a machine probably could actually do a better job at many things, that detail is worth the price. Can you not cook good food without a 7 layer $300 pan? You can make amazing food on a $5 skillet. But the high end cookware is just a joy to use. Little details separate an experience from the mundane. The amazing from the ok.
