Kirov reporting!
*
The Command & Conquer series has more a few entries. And this one is by far my favorite. When it comes to real-time strategy, I don't know if any game can match up to Red Alert 2 (well, Starcraft was pretty good too, but I prefer the former's aesthetic).
I remember only finishing the Soviet campaign (world domination, comrades) and mostly playing custom maps afterwards.
The Soviets really did have some cool units and structures, like the Tesla Coils, Tesla Troopers, Desolators and of the Kirov airships. Oh, and giant squids.
The allies were no slouches either, with their chrono-technology (Chrono-miners, Chrono-Sphere and Chrono-Troopers) and their Prism Towers and Tanks. Oh, and a storm generator.
And yes, later Command & Conquer games had a Chinese and terrorist faction too...
I actually grew up with the one with the Chinese and terrorist factions. It was c&c; generals (plus the sequel, generals zero hour). I had a big collection of the c&c games I played when I was little, and while I did have red alert 2, my favourite was always generals zero hour :D
