Anyone but Disney. Unless they offer a differently branded, parallel, more adult oriented service, you'll never see shows like Game of Thrones, Pennyworth, Banshee or Hunters ever again. Same for movies like Deadpool or anything by Tarantino or TV shows like South Park, Family Guy or Rick and Morty.
They're great at what they do, but there is a demand for innovative content that is not necessarily family friendly and unfortunately their niche is family oriented programming. Hell, I bet that even though the rights to Netflix' Daredevil, Punisher, et al, have reverted back to them, they'll never host those episodes in their Marvel lineup.
Think it through. A subscription service offers you and every other subscriber access to its entire catalogue for a nominal fee. Many subscribers equals profit for the service and money to create new content to attract even more subscribers. If people were able to just cherrypick those particular shows that they REALLY wanted to see, how high a price would the service have to charge, per episode, to realize that same level of profitability? It would definitely outweigh a sub fee. How willing would they be to invest the money on a show like Altered Carbon, The Boys or The Mandalorian, if they had to factor in a direct payback? How many shows would fail to generate enough buzz to succeed because sporadic word of mouth might not be enough to get randoms to spend their entertainment dollars on a flyer. If you've ever been subscribed to a streaming service, think of how many shows/movies, you might have stumbled upon and thoroughly enjoyed, that you might have otherwise missed.
I am more than 100% sure that people have seen more movies and shows accidently while pirating, than they would've had if they were subscribed to something.
Not everyone has a nuclear family so it's a hassle on one phone plus credit card is must and also netflix doesn't have everything as this meme says...I'd legit pay 1000 ruppees for an app that has decent amount of anime to support the creators cause it's way harder for them to earn compared to the netflix creators..tho prime is worth it for shows and movies...there are certain Hollywood movies that doesn't even get released in Indian theatres or it'll have a shitty Hindi dub so people won't see morality in stuff where their region inhibits their interests in watching movies
Bruh, I literally said in my previous comment that the money is not the problem. It's the diversifying.
Also, what's nuclear family has got to do with this? If you are old enough and are earning well, you can shell out 200 rupees per month. And they also accept debit cards, which are easier to get. You just need to have a bank account.
To sum it up, if you want, you can absolutely pay for stuff, but with content scattered throughout the platforms, people are reverting back to piracy. A few years ago, when everything was on Netflix, people were actually stopping piracy and paying for Netflix. Now, it's a different scenario.
Okay see I get what you mean bro...but the issue here is most dont care about morals or they barely even understand how creators get compensation from their content...and money is not problem if you earn yeah but the number of adults who see those movies is way less compared to people below 20 or even 24...parents here don't necessarily understand...also nuclear family cause there 199 pack won't work...but on the same time they'll refuse to pay for 650 pack so yeah I'm not just talking about how shows that are scattered throughout all the platforms make it more complex...there more factors...tho yeah people did get netflix for sacred games and stuff but after that month the user base of India detoriated drastically
The other factors being that India has 70% rural population that still watches network television. The urban India is moving on. And soon, the rural will too. Network television is ending, and streaming will become the next cable service. It's not long before someone opens up a company that will facilitate and provide all of the content from all streaming platforms on one platform. (Comcast maybe? or Disney?). Recently Netflix started putting ads in between to "test out" new shows, if people would like them. That's the beginning right there.
As of the people in India who do watch Netflix and other platforms, it's definitely scattered content that's the problem. It's the same for anyone who's pirating. No one wants to pay thousands for streaming platforms where they only have a couple of good shows that they can pirate anyway. And the creators on Netflix get their compensation before the content is put out. They don't get it based on the views.
And if you are concerned about anime-
