Here’s something relatable: you’ve started getting to know this nerdy guy and you’ve connected over your love of anime because what else. After a few chats he recommends his favorite anime to you and pulls up his phone to show the first episode. The first episode consists of the most generic anime protag accidentally falling onto various candy coloured girls tits and asses. You die a bit on the inside.
To make it worse, you decide to give it a go
BC the guy seems like a nice person and you don't want to judge him too harsh, just like you don't want to judge a whole series through 1 episode.
So you watch it.
And guess what? It's main plot is harem.

Taking a long sigh you watch all the 26 episodes, the animation is getting worse and worse for every episode. They add some kind of magic system halfway through and the pacing just gets more and more inconsistent. All the while the guy is messaging you about how great the scenes are and how hot character A is. You bite your toungue since he really isn’t a bad guy at all and everyone has different tastes. A couple of your favorites are also definitely trash but you find them fun anyway. Afterwards you talk about it, you tell him that it isn’t really your style but you liked character B and C, trying to think of all the best parts of that garbage. The nerdy guy gets a bit too comfortable with a bit too fast and starts making remarks that are just a little bit uncomfortable for you. You can tell he’s joking though and it’s wonderful to see him less shy around you but for every joke he gets more confident and since you laughed at the other ones it’s hard to tell him off.
