I wish we had a system that showed where in the scientific process the "fact" was pulled from: hypothesis, pre-print, peer-reviewed, published, etc.

You could look at the key article and see a red circle and know it's too early, and then you could see the green circle on the right article and see a yellow circle and know more weight is behind it.
I know the difference between all these and what the relative confidence levels should be. I feel like most people see headlines and simply take the content as God-given fact.
