Honestly, I 100% guarantee that if there are 2 animals and one is bigger than the other, one will attempt to eat the other at some point. Pelicans and other birds, frogs and mice/bats/snakes, I once even heard a terrifying story of a cow on a field who just scooped up a baby chicken.
