That's not my point. I'm not going to talk about the loss of life because in both circumstances it's tragic. My point is simply and concisely about the situation. Acts of war and terrorism are seperate which is why a lot of people find jokes about 9/11 innapropriate. I'm not defending anything so next time ask instead of making a point at my expense.
Unpopular opinion; It would be nice if people didn't kill each other.

Huh, you tried, but it turned out to be a popular opinion anyway.
Lemme try: why making jokes about specific mass killings in the first place? When exercising freedom of speech turns into a competition of how little decency, cultural and social empathy one has, maybe instead of advocating free speech, they're just being an asshole?
It's also upset me that people can be so ok with the use of a nuclear bomb not once but twice. I remember when we learned this in school out teacher made a huge joke of it and talked about how the kamikazi's deserved it . We were never taught about the fall out from it , I had to learn that on my own. After everytime we were taught , we would be asked if we thought it was justified. Anybody who said they didn't believe it was justified was bullied by both the kids and the teacher , talking about " oh so you hate america , you should leave the country then". It was always toxic , to the point that I started skipping school on the days I knew we would be learning about it. Plus it was drilled in to us , we took american history several times , 1st- 7th grade , 10th ,11th and 12 the grade too. Not only that but if there was any asian kid in the class , they would be given hell that day.
