Damn Americans with their imperial system

Ever since I learned that as a little kid, I've always read it as "liblets" in my head. Genuinely no idea why, but I'm kind of attached to the term.

That's because is comes from the latin libra pondo, so the L-like £ and "lbs" come from libra while pounds is from pondo.
