My hometown of Gothenburg celebrates 400 years since it was founded today and much like the 300 year jubilee the celebrations are postponed due to a pandemic. It's traditional!

That's awesome! I am surprised that it is only 400 years old, but I really don't know anything about its founding.

The area has been home to people in one form or another since right after the last ice age some 10.000 years ago but four hundred years ago Gustaf Adolf decided to create a fortified city here to maintain important international trade and defend the region from the Danes. The rest is history.
