I will analyze after my brain is done trying to reconcile the insanity I just read. Who thought of this? A psychologist? A Structural Engineer? Someone without a degree in anything related to plants?
Now that I have therapized myself by repeatedly bashing my head against solid objects this is not true. Roots will seek out water on their own. If you have a tree sitting in the plastic bucket for a while and don't loosen up the dirt then they will stay circular as that is all they know or remember but a square hole makes zero difference or sense.
