So sad it had to end like this!
I’ve seen the movie with Martin Freeman and Zooey Deschanel, and I’ve read the books, and the two are almost nothing alike but both carry the same spirit of the other, which somehow made it all the more perfect. The book was an absolute mash up of this nonsense and was so much fun to read and the movie was exactly the same way, and honestly most of the time I get pretty upset when the movie doesn’t match the book if it’s a really good book, but I really didn’t care of this case.
