A reporter, James J. Morrison, was found seemingly following a bus transporting the jury of the Rittenhouse trial.
.
He was arrested* (and given a traffic citation for running a red light iirc) under suspicion of jury tampering/trying to photograph the jury.
.
After being arrested he said he was working for MSNBC's Irene Byon, who is a producer iirc from MSNBC New York.
.
The judge of the trial banned MSNBC from the court room for the remaining duration of the trial while they investigate the incident.
.
Irene Byon almost immediately deleted all her social medias. MSNBC released some sort of statement saying Morrison was a freelance reporter who had never had any intention of photographing the jury members.
.
The spin quickly becoming it was all a coincidence, and that the reporter wasn't arrested for anything to do with the jury at all, merely for a traffic violation
*there are some reports that Morrison himself told the police that he had been instructed by Byon to follow the jurors and try to photograph them. However, I have no idea if this has been verified, so I'd treat that portion at least with a grain of salt for the time being.
