So can we artificially create and grow albino plants? Cause that's pretty cool looking. I can see some application in low light, low power areas that still need oxygen. Does an albino plant produce oxygen at the same rate? I'm too lazy to research.
They could probably be cloned but since they don't create any of their own nutrients you would have to feed them sugars.
Plants break down carbon dioxide through photosynthesis and free oxygen as a by-product. No photosynthesis, no oxygen.
Basically they'd be really wierd house plants that requires very specialised care to keep alive and serve no purpose other than looking pretty.
Did a little googling and the are albino and partially albino plants for sale, there are also lab grown examples. They require special growth medium to allow them to take in the nutrients they can't create. Quite a fascinating rabbit hole.
Title got cut ..
