"The customer is always right" is supposed to be a reminder to maintain a positive demeanour, basically answering wrong things with something like "yes, but", or "I see, however".

It's exclusively used to express something along the way of "You peasant shut up and let me have my moment of power and importance treating you like shit while you're processing to refund the stuff which I clearly used extensively and still try to return after 3 months and don't you dare to ask for a receipt!"
