Yeah, too bad when "The Government" just steals your hard-won money to spend it on hookers and cocaine.

Mmmmmno. That math is wrong...see https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/robertwood/2022/07/30/winning-128-billion-lottery-ticket--gets-4337-million-after-tax/amp/ 747 Million for cash option. Not 1.28B. The lottery took almost half a BILLION for the cahs option. Like $280 million for taxes total... of 1.28 BILLION. Gee, that means the winner got a cool BILLY.

The lottery did not "take" almost half a billion. 747 million is the amount that gets invested in a way that if the winner opted for the payments would in the end result in the 1.28B. To the lottery whether they put 747 million in the investment or give it to the winner in a lump sum, it is the same amount out of their pocket.

This... is true. Not "taken" but not paid either as it is the cash value 'option' but when they say the government took the rest, no one bats an eye.

True true. There just were soooo many factual inaccuracies with that comment that I did not want to touch it with a 10 foot pole. It came off more troll then actual comment.
