I'm having a Mandela moment, I thought he died like 25 years ago. Guy had definitely been low-key for a while

I remember him from the news in the eighties. It was usually him, Reagan and Thatcher in the news back then and he always seemed the more sensible. It was almost a little strange seeing the USSR under Gorbatjov not responding with violence and even embracing democratic ideals. He initiated the nuclear weapon disarmament during the Cold War and the world seemed a little nicer and safer. I liked him. Did what he could with a shitty situation.
