It is reasonably safe to say the rockets are not assembled by child labor, completely safe to say they aren’t exclusively the product of child labor, extremely unlikely they are completely free of child labor. Given that Tesla itself is a supplier for spaceX and spaceX uses some of the same suppliers as Tesla, and that among common shared points between companies is one Mr. Elon Musk, whom has a track record of labor complaints and violations, has moved himself and his businesses specifically to skirt labor laws, and among many glimpses into his philosophy has stated his admiration for Chinese factory workers whom he believe have a deep belief and commitment to work ethic and as such choose not to leave their work “burning the 3am oil” by virtue of their superior work ethic to American workers; it is very likely spaceX employs child labor if not directly than by contract, that it partakes in questionably ethical if not outright illegal labor practices…
And at the end of the day Mr. Musk has made it clear that where there are not regulations to stop him, or where he can get around them, that his idea of ethics in supply chain and labor essentially come down to… results above all. One can call it splitting hairs or meaningless but I mean… I think most people would understand the difference if a neighbor or family member said: “I’d never molest your child. That’s disgusting!” And “I’d never molest your child! That’s illegal..”
