$$$$$$$$$$$ The U.N. if not supported by taxes it levies. It's supported by funds given to it by major countries because it doesn't actually have that much authority. If the top 3 contributing countries just stopped and withdrew it would practically cease to exist.

It technically doesn’t have any authority. The UN is like if a teacher makes a class pick a movie and if you can’t agree you don’t get to watch anything. No student has any power over any other inherently, some are more popular or persuasive. Ted lends Joe money at lunch to buy snacks and so Joe will back Ted’s vote to not lose his snacks. Bob knows Dave’s secret so Dave backs Bob. Jane has a PS5 and Jill wants to be invited over to use it, so Jill backs Jane. But the UN is a class with some bullies that can and possibly will beat up kids that don’t agree and those kids know it. So that’s the UN. Just a classroom picking a movie.
