It’s a good strategy to maximize it- but it doesn’t guarantee it unless you add some strategy. So- say the first night she picks room 4, and you pick room 3.
If you stay in room 3 each night, she will be forced to move to room 3 and you will win the problem on the second night. However, if she picks room 1, she can then pick room 2, then alternate between 2 and 1 each night and you will never find her because you are in 3.
If you alternate between rooms 2 and 3, you can still never find her- so first night you pick room 3 and she picks 4. Second night she must pick 3 but you then pick 2. Third night she goes to 3, if you return to 2, you miss her. One might logic that if you alternate rooms 2-3 and complete one rotation without seeing her that you know where to go next night, but you do not.
Problem
Night 1: she goes to room 4 and you pick 3.
Night 2: she must go to 3 but you pick 2. Night 3: if you pick room 3 and she picks room 2 you miss her. If you pick room 2 and she returns to room 4 you miss her.
Night 4: A: you picked 3 and she picked 2- she can now go to room 1 or room 3.
You still only have what we will call “50/50 odds.” If she picks 1 and you pick 2, we repeat the same scenarios but with 1 2 and 3.
B: you picked 2 and she picked 4, if you pick 3 on night 4 and she picks room 4 then we are back at the same scenario as night 1. And repeat.
Well, it doesn't say you can't pick the same room twice, only she has to.

How about asking her which room she'll go to? If she'd like you to visit her, she'll probably tell you which room. If she doesn't why would you try anyway?
This is an enlightened and novel response. I generally concur- I will say however that the problem does state she is a Tsundere and the wording also seems to corroborate that she actually does want you to find her, she just doesn’t want you to know she wants you to find her because she is highly emotionally guarded.
I do personally believe that regardless of that particular personality type, it is generally more trouble than it is worth to engage such a person and one is better off moving on if they lack the self development to work past their issues and exhibit healthy behavior. That said, some people enjoy such games or at least think they would. To each their own.
So- I will skip the conventional logic problem and mathematical solutions based on the underlying probability problem because I like abusing word problems as unlike a “pure” math problem they generally leave ambiguity because of poor wording or concept.
So in this case… if she is a Tsundere, classic trips hold that the most certain way to find her is… to not try, or to try for some innocent reason. So you just need to either wait until you need to use the bathroom or get a request to give her some class work etc. then while either looking for something that isn’t h the room she is in or attempting to run a legitimate error, you will inevitably find her and it will be an awkward and uncomfortable situation rife with misunderstanding.
