One of the first things I learned in gun safety class is "Never aim at something you're not willing to kill." Period. Always.
I personally am not convinced we should sell weapons of any kind at gun shows. I also think only unmodifable guns of no more than six chambers should be available at all. Regardless of viewpoint on easy-kill weapons (versus, say, a throwing knife) I can't imagine the person who took this photo meant to say what they are actually saying - they are irresponsible at a bedrock level and putting any general trust in them is neither safe nor wise.
From what I read on petapixel, seems like the camerawoman was intentionally trying to walk in his line of sight to grab this photo. Still not a great idea of guardians not being right by the kid (even if ammo and all the firing pins are removed from exhibition guns).
