So let me get this straight.
Britain includes Scotland, England & Wales
The United Kingdom includes Scotland, England, Wales and North Ireland.
And then England is just...England.
I've always been so confused on this.
It gets deeper when you learn the flag of the UK, the Union, is actually the flags of England, Scotland and Ireland superimposed over each other. (St. George's Cross, England; St. Andrew's Cross, Scotland and St. Patrick's Cross, Ireland)
Also don't forget that its called the Union. It's called the Union Jack is when it is flown from a sea vessel.
If I'm not mistaken though, some Brits may take offense to the UK circle in that picture being so small.
Yes, it is. Considering that geography of our own nation isn't exactly considered a strong point or thought of as important by many... You can imagine where the state of international geography falls.
Don't forget the Channel Islands that are in the English Channel. We follow the Crown but we are not technically part of the UK...I live here and I still don't understand it.
