Oh man, you should be. It's ridiculous the things parents come up with go excuse their child's horrible behavior and they're always trying to get you fired, which is super scary. I mean, it's very unlikely that you will get fired from a parents' complaint (especially if you have tenure . . . I'd actually be more afraid of the students getting me fired), but it can leave a mark on your reputation as a teacher and you have to be extra careful. And this is just talking about the easy parents with the average house and nuclear family. Get to the parents who are drug addicts or gang members? They're fucking terrifying.

My parents don't excuse me. If I can't justify myself (ie: Someone was a bully or the was picking on a student and I have proof), I end up grounded and spanked.
