I wish my 180 lb dog would protect me. But nope. Instead, he cowers behind me and expects me to protect him.

My dog is such a wimp. One time the maintenance guy our landlord hired to fix our house just came in without knocking when my mom had just gotten out of the shower and I was in the midst of doing chores and instead of barking or attacking, my dog just sort of ran into the living room looking at me for help.

One of my dogs is a St Bernard, she has crossed eyes and runs into the shower when she hears thunder, I'm not feeling very protected

I have a pretty big dog, and today he went up to the lawn worker and started licking him. Some guard dog, eh? Lol he did almost lick him to death though

If my dog sees me swimming he panics, he jumps in takes my hand and pulls me out. Also I tackled my friend into the swimming pool once, and he jumped in and started to give him warning bites.

I have a Great Dane. She's not aggressive but that bark usually scares people. She'll stand in front and push me away when she thinks someone will hurt me.

Then people will still be like, "Why do you like dogs instead of cats?"

While I get what you're saying no one would get a cat as a guard and then complain that it's not as good as a german shepherd. That would be like hiring the best therapist in town to be your lawyer. (However, on a side note I will say my cat used to hiss and swat at strangers that got near me when I was a baby.)

Cool.... But you do get my point. You do get doctors (is that spelt right?) in special forces too.

I thought this said "5 year old girl protected her German Shepherd from 2 bad guys". I was waiting for the little girl to kung-fu them or something.

My dog is very attached to me, I'm talking like I can't leave the house without her .. she has to nap in the bathroom when Im taking a baths/showers even. But shes very territorial and protective of me. I very much believe in my own personal bubble and if anyone comes within a foot of me my dog snarls and snaps at them. Its a blessing that shes only 4 pounds or she would be doing some serious damage to people.
