People will buy anything if they think it's classy. I know a guy that builds furniture and he said the same exact table will sell quickly for $500 and won't ever sell for $100.
To me, it's not art unless you put hard work and emotion into it. Random lines and shapes you throw onto a canvas and labeling it "art" isn't art. That's just being lazy and you're a wannabe. There are people out there who try their hardest to get their works to be noticed(real art) and then you see the wannabes selling their stuff for millions, where the real artist won't even get a single penny for their work. It makes me sad
this is exactly what I feel. I used to paint in 8th grade (I literally spent hours putting thought into it) and this girl noticed I was getting attention off of it so she copied EXACTLY what I drew and claimed it was her idea and her art.
It really pisses me off to go see a gallery where the "art" has been sold for a lot of money and it's white canvas covered in white paint. And I am not even an artist!!!
