Because Brian matters to us. There was change. Yes, stewie has been a baby for 14 years but that's what keeps the show cool. If Peter and Lois moved out then the show would get a different rating. If Meg committed suicide, where would high schoolers get their ideas for picking on their little sisters? This is what keeps the show entertaining
