That's actually a really good idea. Why the fuck aren't we funding this?!

And if you try trolling and take the wrong bracelet on purpose, you're banned for life. Yes. Where is the kick starter?

The gay community already does this in lesser degrees (any fellow LGBTQ people here to back me up lol?) We wear symbols of our community, like rainbows, pink triangles, equality rings, or other signifiers that signal to fellow queer people "I'm here, I am one of you." Without having to speak. There's a lot of cues you learn, but signalling to outside the community could result in an unsafe situation. It's not friendly everywhere.

My community is not LGBTQIA friendly, so I cannot back this up. I can attest that wearing these things can get you in a world of trouble though, does that count?

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual. Whew. We may need to come up with a new term before that gets any longer. What about the handkerchief code? Some areas' gay men still use that, I've been told.

I live in a highly conservative area where "the gay" is still a sickness or mental illness that needs to be "cured". I am just keeping my head down IRL until I can move and letting myself be myself online.

Same here. The art school I go to is fine, but most people around here.... If people knew I was trans and gay... I don't even know what would happen. Best to just flee the area and my family ASAP.

I can't imagine what that must be like but you've always got friends on the internet to chase away narrow minded people with online voodoo! Hugs all round?

Of course! Hugs are a cure-all. *hugs everyone nearby*

I'm all for hugs! :D so what's intersex exactly? I'm sorry if I'm seeming ignorant, but in India there was no "LGBTQIA" community

I just saw all these comments, you all rock my socks off! And kms, intersex are people born with both male and female genitalia. I love that your from India! I dated a girl from there for almost a year- communities of LGBTQ people exist even in places where it isn't safe from us to be in public. Love always finds a way :-)

Shorter term to say is QUILTBAG it covers everything and is easy to say. It also reminds me of knitting or sewing though.

What do you put for asexual? Because we don't want to do anyone.
