I think congress doesn't give a more than he does, seeing that there's only one of him and 535 congress. And uhm ahem pssst here's secret "I highly doubt the president doesn't care"
i know. (just a theory mind you) but the more home schoolers there are...the less students in the classroom, ERGO the more the teacher can dedicate to the ones without the option.
That.. makes a lot of sense. Huh. Maybe that could change everything. But we'd still have to get the emphasis off of grades and just spitting information at them. They have to be taught how to think.
yes...that would mean the teachers need to be more creative. i am a teacher and i grade certain things and certain things are pass/fail. either you don't do it or you do it and turn it in and then get it back and you turn it in until the information is correct. (if that made any sense what so ever) and in these times we have the internet and youtube and a plethora of tools to make learning fun and exciting! also, i do not use power points and i ask lots and lots of questions and i take a chapter of my "problem solving" class (from college); there are no "NO's" in brainstorming. i teach teens and i take it back to kindergarten on certain things and we draw and cut/paste (b/c everyone learns differently). i also take the stand point that just b/c i'm in an authoritative position does not mean i know everything. my students teach me things all the time. all in all that is just me and my crazy way of thinking.
i also give the students "review sheets" where they grade me as a teacher and i take those suggestions very seriously. i know that i can always better myself. each class, i think, gets a better version than the last class.
