"Hurt" isn't an adjective, they were just using the progressive verb tenses ("I have gone") instead of the simple tenses ("I went"). In the simple tenses, "hurt" is past and present, and "will hurt" is future. The person's point was right, they just did a bad job of demonstrating it.
