"Tako" is the Japanese word for "octopus". And yes, it's pronounced almost identically to "taco". Coincidence? Yeah, most likely. But it's a fun one.

So the UK and England don't really have a National Day. But since Saint George is the patron saint of England (among other countries) his Feast Day (April 23rd) is the closest they have. On occasion the Monarch's Birthday (which doesn't necessarily coincide with the current monarch's birthday) may also be used in lieu of a National Day.
