Super Sunday Week 1 - Superman 2 comments

Truth, justice, and American nationalism... Wait....
*
Another series? Isn't that just super? Superheroes have always had a firm foot in Western culture ever since the 1930s, and even before that if you count pulp heroes (or, any hero from any mythology ever, especially Greek). And that is what these posts shall highlight.
*
And who better to start with than the boy in blue himself? Apparently, he's the most popular and well-known superhero ever. (He's got "super" in his name, what'd you expect?) But, in his very first appearance ("Reign of the Superman", 1933) he's actually the bad guy: a bald, psychic menace... Character development, I guess?

The original, the classic, the still undisputed kings of the internet: cat vids/pic/gifs/memes. This series will celebrate the fabulous felines that have entertained us since the dawn of online image sharing and even before that. (It may also feature nekos... it will definitely feature nekos.)

Froggo Fun #463 - "These are not the frogs you're looking for. Move along." 1 comments
happy_frog · 3 years ago
The funny thing is these particular frogs (Panamanian golden frogs) do communicate through signing. And that specific pattern is in fact a warning to another frog to stay away. So yes, they are indeed telling them to "move along."

There is no girl, there is only duck. I'm glad this meme got some traction. It feels like one of those gifs that could fit with any song, like ye olde Spider-Man gif: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.knowyourmeme.com/memes/dancing-spider-man

I missed Maid Day again... and May the 4th, Cinco de Mayo, And Father's Day... May has quite a few celebrations, doesn't it?

Still, I'm sure a sailor suit and maid Froppy combo is always welcomed.

That does actually happen. It's called a midnight sun, and it occurs in Arctic regions. And yeah, it does mess with your perception of time.
