Oh, I recently watched this exact scene. It's so adorable. Also, seems the ban isn't keeping frog posts down. It's only natural, for you may ban frogs, but what about the ban on your mind?

You'll never guess where these guys live. Besides what their name suggests, they are also found in rocky sea beds throughout North and South American waters, preferring to hang out in lairs during the day and hunt at night. As shown by the pictured gif, they are quite adept at camouflage, but aren't afraid to splash in color every now and then. They usually grow to about 60 cm (circa 2 feet) and weigh around 1.5 kg (about 3 lb). Not the biggest bois but nonetheless a sight to behold if you can spot them.

You ever just find some old songs you haven't listened to in a long while, and they get you really emotional? And you feel very cleansed, like you unloaded a heavy baggage you've been carrying, while you listen to them? Those tracks certainly galvanized that psychological catharsis I've been needing.

@dr_richard_ew Frogs do tend to be very well rounded. Even when they're not they're still all-round great. Okay, I'm not gonna beat around the bush, 'cause I don't like running in circles.

I mean, I do like cheese broccoli, so I can kinda see that. And hey, if you can't bond over edible flowers, are you really meant to be together?

Happy Paul Bunyan Day! 2 comments

The giant lumberjack of Canadian and American folklore is celebrated every year on June 28th, particularly in places that have statues of his likeness (such as the pictured one in Bemidji, Minnesota).
Originating in loggers' talltales, the colossal deforester and his trusty companion Babe the Blue Ox were first popularised in 1916 in pamphlets written by William B. Laughead for the Red River Lumber Company. Since then, his stories have continued to be reinterpreted and retold. One example is the eponymous 1958 Disney short:

(Another one is that Paul Bunyan is cute little girl who can change size and who loves pancakes. That's definitely my headcannon.)

Super Sunday Week 6 - Midnighter (WildStorm/DC) 1 comments

Somebody must have really liked shipping Batman and Superman. Yup, you guessed it, this Batman expy is indeed gay and so is his Superman expy boyfriend/husband called Apollo.
Though he does bear a superficial resemblance to the Bat, his personality and M.O. couldn't be more different.
First appearing in 1998 as a WildStorm (which was later absorbed by DC) character, he has no qualms about killing any who cross him and even takes pleasure in doing so (and yet, he's not considered a villain, somehow). Also, while technically still a human, he has a number of augmentations including a spare heart and brain enhancements. (Hopefully, he did not take modifying his body to Cyberpunk levels.)

I guess I really would post 500 frogs. But will I post 500 more?... We'll have to wait and see.

Either way, this couldn't have happened without you guys' support. It's just a bunch of frogs pics but they have been a constant in my life (mostly) and they do give a feeling of stability (how ever small). And for I thank everyone who has and who continues to hop along with me.

You either think Dbz is better than every other anime or worse than every other anime, 4 comments

It's kinda funny. Even though Dragonball is considered the father of modern shounen and a definer of many tropes in the genre, it was apparently meant to be a parody of shounen shows that preceded it.

That was more of a joke than an actual attempt to avoid spoilers, since I didn't think people actually cared about it. But, what you said is good advice nonetheless.

Well, if I recall, Nezuko makes noises. And Komi (spoilers) does talk... eventually.

Caturday Week 6 - Calico Cats 5 comments
happy_frog · 3 years ago
Calico is not actually a breed but a fur type characterized by being white in varying proportions with black and orange patches. It's named after the Calico fabric, and occurs in the following breeds of cats: the Manx cat, American Shorthair, Maine Coon, British Shorthair, Persian cat, Arabian Mau, Japanese Bobtail, Exotic Shorthair, Siberian, Turkish Van, Turkish Angora and Norwegian Forest cat.
Interestingly, due to how genetic determination works in the above breeds, the vast majority of Calico cats are female with only very rare exceptions. (Also, most don't have an affiliation to Calico Jack, with very rare exceptions.)
