I found the article. The assertion is that women tend to multitask, which taxes the brain more. The researcher claims the extra effort adds up to requiring 20 minutes more sleep per night. I tried to follow the article's link to the actual research and it didn't work, so that doesn't instill much confidence in me about this whole idea.

@lihea "Intransigence" is the word to describe that type of attitude. It can be infuriating to have an intransigent of person in your life. Someone in my immediate family is like that. I love them but it's surreal to sit there and not defend my values and beliefs because I know it's not worth the argument that will ensue.
