It sounds like you had an intense talk with your dad. It was big of you to tell him you'd be open to a fresh start, but it seems like your boundaries with him are good. Please remember when you feel down that you have boundaries. Everything in them is something you can control (reactions and feelings about situations, if you apply for scholarships or go to school at all), and everything outside of them is something you CAN'T control (your mom's twin's witchcraft, your dad's ideas, the other ridiculous people in your family). If you focus on everything inside your boundary and keep it moving forward, the stuff outside your boundary will start to lose its hold on you. I promise. You've been through some crazy stuff. I have too, and that's how I kept it together through all of it.

Hi! I am okay. It's been a weird week but I am alive and well, so that's good. Someone who was like a second mom to me just passed away earlier this week; I am going to her funeral today. That will be hard but there will be lots of good people there.

I am really glad you are going to university now. And I'm so relieved your uncle is guaranteeing a place for you to stay when other people are failing you. Getting out of this situation and in to school will help you on lots of levels: you will be away from the toxic people in your life, you will be busy with class work and learning, you will meet lots of new, shiny people. Er, I didn't mean to impinge on your political sensibilities, @unklethan. Sorry to trigger you. My intent wasn't to drag Trump as a person into this; at all. I only mentioned Mr. Bridenstine was appointed because I think it's relevant that people know the administrator of NASA doesn't necessarily "rise through the ranks" with an illustrious and distinguished science background, but simply that NASA administrators are appointed by the President, whomever it may be at the time, whatever your political views.

Jim Bridenstine, who is the current administrator of NASA (appointed by Trump in 2017), has stated he thinks Pluto is a planet. His opinions don't have much pull in the scientific world, though.
