I don't think people dislike movies because of the race of the main characters. Their race is usually crucial and/ or realistic to the plot, not being racist.

The only difference though, is the sheer size and mass of such a creature. Even if it does still exist it's most likely not where you're swimming

I'm not sure because there was a discovery channel documentary about it and a lot of people got very mad because I guess it's ridiculously unlikely.
