I work retail, I'm required to be social.

They don't post memes, usually a picture and descriptions, and to my knowledge they've solved probably 5 cases in the last three years that way although two were found deceased.

The local police in my area are also on social media, they often post stills from security cameras, or missing person's information and public alerts (storm warnings, traffic alerts and so on) and they do get tips that help solve crimes or find people. So you may see social media use by law enforcement as a waste but it does have a positive effect.

The united nations is preventing a lot of action by placing 'sanctions' which lets face it may as well be a finger wag from thousands of miles away, as long as the united nations stands in the way of any real action they will continue until it's way too late to stop them and thousands/millions of people die.

Oh believe me the second nk tries something the whole world will stomping that swamp into a parking lot. The problem is that nobody seems to take the little bastard seriously because they have so little real technology, between that and the united nations holding us back from putting a sniper bullet between the asshole's eyes or dropping a 1000 pound bomb on his head from a low orbit.
