Nine on one hand from a knife attack several years ago, and six accidental (either cuts or burns from various tasks) I'm also missing a fingertip but I count that as one scar.

I'm in therapy for the crap I have experienced in my life, and yes while it helps with dealing with the self doubt and blame, the other emotional issues, it will never change the fact that those things occurred, and that I may have been a very different person if they hadn't. although some positive things did come from those experiences, (my child, my fiercely protective nature, and other things.) I mean if I hadn't been abused by my uncle at a month shy of 8 years old I wouldn't have attempted suicide and fell into a lasting depression, I'd have likely enjoyed my childhood and had much better confidence. If I hadn't dated my kid's mother and dealt with what she did, I wouldn't lose my shit every time I see a serrated blade knife, but I also wouldn't have my amazing little child, so the good came with the bad.
