Square-cube law. Volume, and therefore mass, is proportional to the cube of your height. Muscle cross-section (a surface area), and therefore strength, is proportional to the square of your height. The shorter you are, the higher your strength/weight ratio. This is why fleas jump 50 times their sizes and ants can carry leaves way heavier than they are. Of course, a lot of training is required to accomplish this potential, but it is no surprise to find an asian kid on top of this discipline.

We wouldn't hear the sound due to the seismology of the sun itself. The sun vibrates like a bell, but it's so huge that the frequency is insanely low, well below 1 Hz, so inaudible. However, the turbulent bubbling of convection cells and the violent eruptions would probably make noise we can hear. I wish I had some numbers.

I just watched videos about the "hollow earth theory", in order to understand how they explain the formation of a hollow planet. As a professional astronomer, physicist and mathematician, I cringed a lot. They're fractally wrong, like, not only they're wrong, but their way of being wrong is also wrong (that doesn't cancel out), all the way down. It's... Sad.

You know that the word "fascist" refers exclusively to what was going on in Italy under Mussolini, right? In the same way Nazism revolves around Hitler and stuff. It's not a generic term, and definitively doesn't match the imagery used in the post since fascism opposes marxism.

Lucky? You had plans that day, and suddenly everybody around you dies horribly and you're probably injured. That's not good luck, that's merely slightly less terrible luck than the other got. Luck is when your incurable disease goes into remission, or you find a treasure in your garden, or all the lights are green on your way to the maternity.

What's with the grammar? Even Google Translating some Korean doesn't produce "they was".

I'm talking about *pets*, not livestock. And yeah, chicken aren't the cuddliest of birds, they're kind of dumb. But they're still cute, somehow.

This refers to WhatsApp, a messenger app on mobile phones. Whenever you send a message, a symbol appears next to it. There are four symbols: a clock when your message isn't sent (you're offline in a basement), a gray tick when it is sent (it's now on the WhatsApp server, trying to reach your correspondent who's apparently in another basement), two gray ticks when your message has been received by your friend's phone, and the two ticks turn blue when your friend opens the chat window and presumably has read the message. Many people are always on their phone when you hang out with them, but for some reason your messages turn blue only seven hours after you've sent them, and even then you never get an answer. They ignore you.

This is why people invented "Good afternoon." as a replacement for "How are you?"; stupid non-sincere questions do elicit answers.

Yeah, parents friendzoning each other. As someone old enough to be a parent, this isn't cute, this is terrifying.

I live in the Netherlands and had no idea. What the fuck? We don't even have any significant conic-con or anything vaguely similar. At the same time, we do have many fetish/latex parties and I'm glad these are devoid of furries.

And rightly so. Here's a free hug. After that, we can lament on how illogically people behave. It won't make you feel better on the long run. I'm sorry, nothing will.

Missing somebody? They never noticed you even existed.
Have a question? You should know that already, why did we even hire you?
Want to be understood? Nobody makes sense, so don't even bother.
Love someone? Give it five years, then you won't.
Want to meet up: you're paying, right?
