I mean, nobody likes a tattle, and the vast majority of people are doing their best to keep themselves quarantined. It's the weird nutjobs that get airtime on TV that give everybody a bad name.

Don't discount humanities ability to create basically the same thing but with a few different twists.

it's like the video of Rick Santorum Santoruming a mask by putting it on upside down and being absolutely committed to the bit despite a cop behind him whispering "that's not how you do it."

At least spell his name right. The Culkin-sanse has been amazing to see, and he's on two of my favorite podcasts.

Heh, I'm not sure my Ford Focus is all that bad ass, but I will replace it with "drives much better in the snow."

I try to only buy manuals because A) they're cheaper B) nobody knows how to drive them so they get stolen less and C) better gas mileage.

These are people in government who hate government, so they will do their best to make sure it does as little as possible and what it does do will be severely kneecapped.

I remember watching a thing about Metallica a long time ago and the guitar player was asked if they sold out. He said yes they sold out every time they play. I don't blame people for doing something for money, but I don't respect them when they pretend they aren't.

Being sick in this country is seen as a moral and ethical failing because sick people can't do what they're supposed to do.

Nah, nothing will change. This will be seen as just another "lone wolf" style incident.

There's a whole story behind this, but the long and short of it is that the bride didn't really care and more or less laughed it off.

I am an atheist and held a lot of personal animosity towards organized religion for a very long time, but i grew out of it. Trying to debate the logic of religion is stupid because faith is not logical, by its very definition. Let people live their lives and believe what they want, at least we get cool shit like The Exorcist out of it.

That's a pretty common thing. A lot of games hide loading screens behind simple animations to make them look smooth.

Reducing everything to class is intellectually lazy, but a useful shorthand for where you are in our society. I believe the more useful lesson is to remember that you are not wealthy, and the money and assets you do have will not save you against catastrophe like it would a millionaire.

It's not about hard work. If hard work equated to more money I would have made a shit ton when I was in AmeriCorps. It's about the fact that the average wage hasn't gone up in almost 30 years while the prices for essential items like housing, food, and health care have skyrocketed. The fact of the matter is effort will only get you so far, and bootstraps mentality is a fallacy.

Sure? I would love to get paid more and I will advocate and agitate for higher pay for most people. This isn't some sort of "gotcha" thing.

I was in hospitality, my job was furloughed, then eliminated. Now I do online teaching for my local school district.

Look, ideologically, I want everybody, even you, to earn more at their jobs. I truly hope you succeed, and I truly hope you do not want others to not succeed. I don't really have the energy or will to fight a stupid battle of wills against two people who fundamentally disagree with me.

Yeah, weird that scientists want money for vaccine research. What a world we live in.
